Lichfield, part 2

That’s the end of day two and it’s time to traverse the M6 to get to the Guide weekend hopefully for about 7….

So, Lichfield, lovely place, lots and lots of buildings from 17th and 18th centuries.

And home to the only 3 spired cathedral in the UK.

It’s not hugely busy, unlike York (at least it’s not 2 weeks before Easter) and it just seems like a brilliant place to live. Well the weather was dry so that always goes down well with me. Worth a visit, definitely take your camera.

Lichfield, part 1

Had a great wander after training today but it’s time for bed already. So I’ll get a proper set of shots up tomorrow. I’m already weird in this training as I was photo editing at lunchtime so blogging isn’t too much of a stretch.

Glasgow Cathedral and Necropolis

Sunday’s shoot was out in the ancient part of Glasgow. Not short on walkers, dogs and tourists this area. Oh and be prepared for the hill but it does offer amazing views over the south east side. The weather and the morning sun were against me for that but there are endless details and opportunities for shots.

The Cathedral is a thing of beauty. Still a working church 800 years on, they do allow cameras inside (tripods by negotiation). The light levels can be low but worth it for the architecture and stained glass. Make sure you head downstairs to see the final resting place of Glasgow’s Saint, St Mungo. As it’s still a working place of worship, please be respectful and remember to be aware of services that could be running.
